The Teracruz dbAppliance is a data appliance platform that is installed on the network with database and application servers. The dbAppliance features patent-pending SQL Query Result Caching, zero-overhead performance monitoring, service-level management, and high-availability technology. The unique network architecture of the dbAppliance means these benefits are provided with no server software or overhead, and no code changes required.

Easy Installation, Immediate Benefits
The dbAppliance was designed to quickly and easily integrate with your existing application infrastructure. Installation typically takes less than 40 minutes and is accomplished by connecting the dbAppliance to the network and modifying database connection parameters. After this, the dbAppliance is configured using Teraview, a powerful user interface, providing a single point of control for all dbAppliance features. Teraview is included with the dbAppliance, and is automatically downloaded from the dbAppliance using a standard web browser.

dbAppliance Hardware
The dbAppliance is housed in a rack-mountable, 1U high chassis, powered by a highly optimized networking engine. Each unit is equipped with dual 10/100/1000 Ethernet connections and 4 GB (expandable to 8GB) of memory. The standard system includes full performance management capability for Oracle and IBM DB2 databases, Teraview, and high-availability features. Acceleration products and Service Manager can be added with a simple license key installation.
